Hi mates.

Is there any way to do it? All the cars I've driven have a way to deactivate passenger airbag in case a child seat is installed. Normally using the car key. But I'm not able to find anything in my Mustang.
Any idea?

Thanks in advance

Does it not have a sensor in the seat?

On my S197, if my son sits in the front in his car seat, the sensor realises there's not an adult and automatically disables the airbag (and a warning comes up on the dash to confirm this).

There is an illuminated signal on the dome light when the passenger airbag is off, but actually I can't remember from the manual how to disable the airbag..

it's easy, have your passenger place their feet on the dashboard in front of them... pop - there goes the light :D

(I have no idea, sorry)

Thanks guys!
Yes. The manual says that it's automatically detected, but I've never seen the light on the dome ON. Have you? Anyway, i understand that it cannot be disabled manually as it's done in other cars. :(

The control light is located on the middle light panel under the roof, right near those interior lights. There is a sensor on the seat, I often place grocery bags on the passenger side and it usually lights up.

It's a red one.
It works automatically, just like R3v says. If I put a baby seat on the front seat, it works perfectly.

It's based on weight. When there is a load detected on the seat between certain weights it disables the airbag. Above or below (not sure why on the below) it is enabled.

Yep, you are right. I checked it putting my hand on for some seconds and it turned on.

Thanks
