Well, that was fun. I used a gear wrench (10MM) to get the sound tube off the firewall. Shoved my left arm back there between the header/strut tower and under the ST brace. Took a while, but I got it off. There are no instructions, just a link on their site to pics that were hard for me to read and see due to the sizing. Probably in a format that I just didn't know how to enlarge. Tip: put the relocation bracket on the coolant reservoir first.... The bottom of the airbox has a hugely overdrilled hole where the one mounting bolt goes in. The washer covers about half the hole when you push it to the side so there's something to grab. The MAF sensor mounts to a round aluminum piece of "pipe". No gasket was supplied, sort of thinking I'm gonna make one as it fit perfectly in the OEM plastic intake. I hear a faint whistling noise when I ease on the gas. Not sure if it's that or just a normal noise with that cone filter.
It definitely makes a difference sound wise, kind of nice having sound from engine that's real! We shall see what happens to my track et/mph. Couldn't beat the deal from Lethal. I haven't had my hands on other CAI's, so I can't make a fair comparison quality wise, but everyone seems to say this brand works as well as any of them. So nice to have the sound tube no longer cluttering my bay!
