Does anyone know of a manufacturer of customized horn button covers for the S550's? I am doing a full customization of a GT and as much as I like the pony and the snake, i want to put something different on there (but not the Bullitt cover). Thoughts?? Or, is there a manufacturer of a thin "plate" that could be adhered to the existing button cover that would not look cheesy? Thanks.

I searched for a replacement and didn't come up with anything. I have seen a few people that have taped some different style homemade covers on but I didn't like the look of those. I decided to draw and 3d print my own. It will attach just like the stock logo. I still need to make a few changes to my design and print the final product but I have printed out a few quick tests and I think it is looking damn good so far.

If that cover is pinned all around the circumference, when that airbag pops it will be a pretty big issue.

This is a pic of the cover where it splits on deployment

The pins on the one that i printed will snap off under a bit of pressure.

How are you attaching that to your horn button cover?

There are pins on the back of it just like the stock one has.
Dumb question - so what do the pins attach to? How is it secured so in normal use it doesn't come off?

BTW, your cover looks really good. I'd be willing to pay you to make one for me, but it won't be for about 6 months. Thanks!

The pins go through the stock mounting holes and are melted on the backside just like the stock emblem is.

Yeah, that's what I figured but didn't know for sure. Thanks again for your good post - there's hope out there for customizers like me!

Nice job! Would be interested in alternative (or blank) options. Great to see someone with a 3D printer is working on this upgrade!

Hopefully I'll get some time this weekend to mess around with it. The first full one I printed for a test fit was blank. I will try to get some pics of what it looks like with the blank cover.

Here's a pic of the first test piece that I printed to make sure everything was going to fit okay. Still haven't had the time to print my final piece.

Sweet! How did the cover come off the airbag? I've had the airbag out but did not try to take the cover off. Thinking if the cover was anchored to just one side and glued down, it would stay with just one side of the airbag cut line during deployment. That was what I did for my attempt. No way to test without detonating an airbag but pretty sure it would not interfere. With your design I could actually put a genuine set of pilot wings on that =D
