Cool story, never said a Tesla could do that. I was more so pointing out to other members on the forum that there is more out there in terms of EV racing capabilities then they seem to understand. After all, we were talking about Daytona at some point in here.

I mean if we are going there, I’d venture to guess your car can’t race all day around Daytona for 500 consecutive miles PERIOD….

At the end of the day you’re comparing a track purposed car driven by a training instructor around a track to a family sedan.
the instructor is me lol and yes we get many teslas that try. the only ones that succeed own garages at the track and installed fast charger but are limited to 2 runs.

It won't be battery EV. Some kind of fuel cell.

Or it will be Jonnie cabs like in Total recall..... Powered by the road itself.

OK, my bad, but you never said it was your car, your experience, or your video. It lead me to believe it was just another YB clickbait video. I’ll check it out tomorrow.

So a 150k car that runs 9s from the factory is just a family sedan?

Why do people get so butt hurt over a heavy ass 4 door family sedan that has every creature comfort imaginable and runs 9s? Asking for a friend.

They had a no prep race last weekend LARGE turnout. Someone brought a Tesla ran it in the 11.50 index class.

Car is fast but the owner had it on a gas charger after every pass.
1/4 mile.

Not very environmentally friendly. IMO

If you have a less than 40 mile one way commute, have a place to charge it an EV might make sense, especially since they are being subsidized. For most of us they don't work or we will need an ICE to go with it.
Assuming it was at least a Model S P85D, which can make well over 100 passes before the battery depletes, the owner was a tool.

And several EV’s today can easily surpass 200 miles on a charge, which is more than the majority of what most folks drive daily, so they are more than doable for day to day life.

I’m sorry but no one seriously brought a small portable generator to the track to charge their car. At best a small generator would provide a Tesla like 1 mile of range per hour of charging.

Now to your 40mile commute comment. I did a 140 mile round trip commute 5 days a week for 2 years in an EV with 0 issues, concerns, or charging issues.

Not butt hurt at all. Just tired of people glorifying the perks and glossing over the short comings.

Don't know what model it was but he said it only gets about 150 miles due to age and weather conditions.

It ain't flat land here.
