I was at the NYC auto show today and according to the Ford representative at the show, the GT350-R is 5 seconds faster than the Z28 at the Nurburgring. The data and videos will be released sometime in the summer before the car goes on sale late fall.

I can't see a Ford rep spilling the beans way before he says Ford will release the info. He would be fired in a heartbeat. He most likely is referring to the article from a bogus site we all know about.

The "Ford Rep" probably didn't get that info from Ford, most likely the false info that was release several months ago. While I don't doubt the car could do that I will wait to see it come from the mouth of Ford themselves.

Highly unlikely that a Ford Rep has access to the ring time. The pro drivers and testers that are featured in the videos that appear on the Ford website do, but the PR people who are sent to auto shows don't.

Hell, the Ford twitter claimed that the 350R is was either 300 or 500 lbs lighter (I don't remember which) than the GT, but was deleted.

They also said the 15 would be lighter than the 11-14s -.-
No they didn't.

7:32:xx was a rumor printed by some British magazine a while back. Nothing official has been published.

I still don't think this matters at all.

5 seconds? It's a 12.9 MILE TRACK. That could be driver difference, temperature, track temp.... anything. GM could put their Camaro back on the track and run it with different drivers until someone of theirs could beat this time...

Yes, seeing 'Ring track times is fun, and some may use it as bragging rights, but I still take it with a grain of salt. It's the equivalent of running .02 seconds different in a 1/4 mile. Do you know anyone that consistently runs the 1/4 within .02 seconds of their best time every time? I doubt it.

Using your math, the guy did it 250 times.
