Don't know if it's been asked before.
Are the front & rear brake hoses "Rubber" or "Braided" ?

Its well known that rubber lines expand more than braided steel. So what is the reason for using rubber lines? It can't just be cost.

Can't it? If you made this kind of decision on half the parts on the car, the cost would blow up. It's not like the stock lines won't last until the car is well out of warranty and really pedal feel so far has been phenomenal. When is good enough not good enough?

Given the massive brakes they chose for these cars it just seems like a shame.

I'll change to braided sometime, but like mattlqx said the pedal only moves like a 1/4" or so. It has a awesome pedal feel.

The mentality on rubber brake lines expanding is a thing of the past. This is not the 70s.

They are excellent quality and have almost zero expansion, SS lines is the last thing you'll need to change on this car.

The huge brakes actually make them less of a factor, more pad surface area, more piston surface area, means you can get better clamping force with lower hydraulic pressure. It also means much more efficient cooling of the fluid, so expansion of the lines due to heat also becomes less of an issue.

The Boss 302 used low expansion rubber lines, I'm sure these are the same kind. They're not just regular rubber hoses off a transit or something. The GT500 from what I see did have these so maybe if someone can chime in on this?
