I'm just sitting here at work reading Mustang stuff then had an idea about swapping the premium GT hood with GT350 hood.

What do you guys think? Do you think they are both the same measurement?

The GT350 hood looks more sleek so it probably has better sight line.

I would be surprised if it did due to the gt350 being wider up front. I bet there will be decent after market replicas that will fit the bill

I'm sure someone will make an aftermarket replica that will fit, but an OE one would be pretty unlikely given that the sheet metal from the a-pillar forward is different.

Anything to get rid of that hood bulge on the vanilla S550s. I really like the GT350's hood, but it doesn't look like it would be a seamless swap.

I'm liking the scoop Foose had at Sema.

It would be great if they do. I know Ford designers want to keep the Mustang tradition with the current hood but I just think it could be more functional if they keep it tapered from the sides.

IIRC, the headlights are ~1" lower on the 350, if true I doubt a hood swap would work.

Different design language as Mustang but I appreciate the maximum use of space on that hood.

IIRC the Shelby isn't being sold in Europe because the hood is lower, closer to the engine and doesn't meet European pedestrian collision requirements. For that reason I would assume that the swap would be more complicated than just trading hoods.

Pure hood swap? No.

Aftermarket GT350 style fiberglass hood? Oh yeah, bet on it.

Only down side is you'll have to pin it to be competition legal, but that's okay.
