Ok, I'm legitimately confused here. I've seen that the Coyote engine redlines at 7,000 rpm. But my gauge cluster reads a 6,500 rpm redline, and pictures I've found online of other GT tachometers read the same:

So what's the deal?

Keep it under 2k and you'll be fine. :D

Well, it's indicated at 6500. I just put up a photo of it.

Notice that at 6500 it is one "hash" marking, but at 7000 hashing becomes more bold so seems to be in line with max RPM with maybe a bit of "warning" your getting close

At 6500 the entire tach turns red warning you are close. True red line is 7000

That tach looks different, the OP doesn't seem to have the light gray section

Sorry about the giant pic. That is an ecoboost. Does yours (GT) not have a similar change in the hash marks between 6500 and 7000?

Yeah I definitely don't have that light grey section on my car. You sure that's not the Ecoboost tach?
It is an ecoboost. Was trying to find a clear photo that shows the different hash marks between 6500 and 7000. Only clear photo I could find.

I have that light grey section on my V6. Also your check engine light is on.
