Lol, the gas mileage changed so much for the V8 just like I said it wouldn't. V8 is a V8 and eats gas. :)

You would have thought the 10 speed would make a significant difference with 2 OD gears. Even in the ecoboost it's only a 1MPG increase from the manual.

Sad! /trump

That isn't impressive for the v8.
Its got enough power to run 12.0@117 and 25mpg highway isn't impressive? please enlighten me to a faster and more fuel efficient car.

Compare it to the GT350 MPG.

Most of the cars achieving the 30 mpg range with a V8 are cutting cylinders on the highway. This one doesn't.

This is why I have a Mazda 6 as my alternative car. It doesn't eat gas. If I had to daily drive my GT all the time, I would be filling up way too often. I normally average about 19 mpg with all the mixed driving with the 3.73 gearing.

The V8 numbers really don't matter anyway. I get 27-30mpg on my 2016 pp manual and about 22 combined. Granted, gas mileage wasn't near that good for the first 1000 miles or so. If I drive like a hooligan 100% of the time I can mange 19 combined, but it's just not a realistic figure for plebians.

Curious what you paid for this alternative car, what you save on MPGs versus the Mustang, what you pay for in extra taxes, what you pay for in extra maintenance, what you pay for in extra insurance, and how many years it would take to actually get ahead doing this?

Just seems crazy to buy another car just for fuel cost savings based on the above formula. Now if you need it for other reasons (4 doors, winter driving, etc) I can understand it.

The 6th gen camaro. You're welcome.

Ps 12.0 isn't impressive. It's still slow. Just like the camaro

Yeah, I got it for more practical driving, storage, dog transporting, poor weather. The Mustang is my fun, garage queen. I drive it most days the weather is nice.

It both doesn't run 12.0s, and isn't EPA rated for 30mpg.

The mustang beats its highway MPG rating with ease. My GT350 rated for 21mpg, and gets 24mpg with ease. The GT gets near 28ish mpg for some people.

The Camaros HAVE run 12.0, with some of their better drivers dipping into the 11s. Although the Camaro isn’t rated at 30 mpg, it is however rated higher than the Mustang in both auto and manual configuration. I’m sure some of the Camaro owners are besting the epa ratings along with the Mustang owners so that point goes both ways.

I think people were just expecting the Mustang to pull a little better with the new 10 speed. Who knows when the Camaro will get the 10 speed but it’s likely going to add a mpg or 2. This is with a push rod motor that some mustang owners deem archaic on this forum.

MPG should be the last thing people are looking at if they are considering either of these cars, but it’s still a talking point.

A six gen corvette or current gen corvette can get 28 29 mpg on the highway and they are faster in every way! But they also weight between 3100 and 3400 lbs with better aerodynamics!

This will be a gas saver when compared to my current vehicle.

Don't forget they also cost way more.
