Excessive Convertible Top Wear

Am beginning run into an exterior excessive wear spot on each side of the front third of the top (near the fold sites).

I don't think I should be seeing any this soon.

Has anyone else encountered this same problem?

My top has light (almost white) spots/lines in it. Not sure if this is normal or what is causing it.
