Hi all,

I purchased a tent trailer last summer that did not have a fridge. It came with an electric cooler that was used as a fridge but the previous owners did not use it, they just used normal coolers and ice (we are the third owners of the trailer). We only used ice and coolers last year as well. However this year we are going to be camping with friends who have bigger units and use power sites. I was wondering if it is ok to use an electric coolers as a fridge in the tent trailer or should I just stick to coolers and ice? I am just wondering about heat production inside the trailer and if it can be a fire hazard if we went away on a hike. Or would it just take up storage space and not be wroth bringing.

We are planning some week long trips so the longest the cooler would be powered on for is 7 days.

Please let me know your thoughts.
