Don't automatic wash

It was a nice day out today so I decided to drive the mustang to work and give it a quick wash before work. I went to the auto wash I normally use but found out the hard way the Shelby splitter is a lot lower than my C7. Guy was guiding me in and then blam! The driverside corner of the splitter took a direct spear from the guide rail of the wash. I know a lot of you don't like to auto wash but this a new reason not to.

That sucks man, In the manual it specifically says to not do this for the exact same reasons. Sorry that happened!

Anyone know of a hand wash car wash in the South/West San Jose area?? The only choice we have here is to go to a public car wash since washing your car at home is now against the law!

Sorry for the ignorance, but what is a touchless auto wash and what does it include? Is it just soap and water sprayed on the car?

Yes, at high-pressure. I don't like those, either. They use some real crap, recycled water and chemicals. A the high-pressure, I worry that they are blasting debris onto the paint. 2 bucket hand wash only. If it was illegal to wash cars here, I'd be breaking the law!

Yeah pretty much. The cheap quick wash gets you the soap, high pressure wash, water mist "spot free rinse" and the high speed air drying. Some also spray the bottom of the car as you drive in.

This is a sad story to read. Have to agree on never taking your high performance ride through an auto wash though

Also just an FYI. Even though the damage is really not that bad I thought I would pop in my dealer and order the drivers corner of the splitter but found out even though it is three pieces you have to order the whole assembly.
