I was thinking about how much I mostly despise any chrome on a car and it got me itching to replace the stock emblems on my car.

Does anyone make replacement badges in brush aluminum? I did a quick search and all I could find were black emblems (AM and CJPP). While those look great, I wouldn't like them on my white car. I feel like the front pony and the rear "GT" emblems would disappear too much, plus I'm not too keen on having black 5.0 emblems.

Brushed aluminum emblems would fit my tastes perfectly. Does anyone know where I could find anything close to that?

Or would it be easier for me to just plasti-dip them?

Try painting with the spray paint that ends up looking like Stainless Steel.

Wrap with a brushed aluminum look vinyl? I don't know how hard that would be.

I'm in the same boat as you.

As a temporary fix, I sprayed 1 layer of "clear" plasti-dip over the front emblem. Haven't done the others.. looking for something more permanent as 1 layer of plastidip doesn't hold up very well lol.

Thinking of trying green scotch-brite, but that makes me nervous. I used it on exhaust tips for my S197 and they came out 10/10, but I'm thinking emblems would be much harder to do correctly.

Be VERY cautious, you can rub through the chrome pretty quickly...

Check with Erick at AutoBadges.com. From what I understand they can do any kind of custom badge you can imagine, literally. I have a subdued American flag grill pony from them and their detail is great...

You can always start off with super fine steel wool and then work your way up till you get the desired finish you want.. as you do it make sure you go in the same direction.

Firstly, wicked ride!!!! I love what you did with your front end!

I wonder if you steel wool the finish on the emblem would that make it less weatherproof?

Thank you..yeah I would think it would water spot ...but after you steel wool it ..you could paint it with Matt clear to protect the finish.
