IMO that pale yellow is terrible.

I am always worried when a refresh comes for a car I own. But both times this has happened, I've been relieved that I like the car I own more than the refresh.

Last time was a 2009 civic. The new one was fatter, a little weirder, and dropped the 2 liter (8.2k revs) in favor of a 2.4 l block. This time it's more of the same, but with the styling. I think they made the front end opening a bit too wide. I liked the tunnel-like opening of the '15-7 MY, because it looks meaner. Now it's like an awkward smile.

I'm ambivalent towards the interior changes. I can see their appeal, but for instance the gauges - i am perfectly happy with analog. I had a digital speedo in my last car and hated it since it was not smooth. Also ambivalent towards the 10-spd, since I only drive manuals.

But engine update and magnaride sounds good, provided they don't increase weight. For someone who's not particularly interested in tuning the engine during the warranty period, I think more power is always nice - even more so when it comes with better fuel economy. And the magnaride... well, let's just say that if it's anything like in the GT350, I am jealous. Very jealous.

To think that I was the first person that addressed development of the MY2018 refresh back in June 2014 in this thread, after hearing comments from the S550 designer Kemal Curic, who has since moved over to Lincoln and didn't design this.

I am usually very open-minded and objective, but this takes the cake. It is atrocious! Never did I imagine Ford would make such a gaffe and ruin the design of this car. Ever since I saw the Evos in 2011 and this early 2013 speculative sketch by Johnny McBride, I knew what would I wanted it to look like. After seeing this front end leak many months later and the actual car, I have been pleased the past 3 years.

I have to wonder if J Mays stepping down at the end of 2013 and Alan Mulally retiring in 2014, have any bearing on the onslaught of design regression from Ford as of late? Much of the Ford brand products design since 2014, have underwhelmed me. Much of the newest Ford designs I have liked were designed during the earlier days of One Ford or prior to 2015, as MY2017s or earlier. The updated P552 for MY18 and MY2017 Super Duty (P558) are a step back, as well as that of the MY2017 Fusion (save for Sport).

You almost have to dislike the current S550. if you absolutely hate the refresh! The refresh is very minor changes to the current model. I like the refresh.:shrug:
