Differential Hose Disconnected

Took my 2019 GT350 with 600 miles to a shop to have Ford Performance R Springs installed. When jacked up the car and removed the rear driver wheel he found the diff hose completely disconnected. Fluid was also on the underside if the rest end. Pics below. He connected the hose and topped the fluid off for me. The good news is that he said it only took a cup or so and that if it was totally drained it would have taken 3 or so quarts. He said I dodged a bullet. Obviously I’m going to take it to Ford to inspect but wanted your opinion. Do you agree that given it only took that much fluid that the diff and gears are probably ok? I also noticed a small puddle of what appear to be drips on my garage floor upon getting home. Perhaps it was loose and on the ride to the shop it fell all the way off?

Should be OK if only a cup down - but you sure did luck out on that one. I would also check the level after a few more miles. Differential may have only taken a cup but if the cooling system was drained then that cup may not have filled the whole system and it could still be low.

Might need to bleed air out of the system too.

If the differential never got warm enough to run the pump it likely only let out what was in that hose.

Very helpful. This is what i was told as well by the mechanic who installed my springs. As mentioned, I'm going to bring it into Ford to check out but hopefully i dodged a serious bullet.
