I have micro scratches on my rear spoiler the black panel on the trunk and on the black roof.

Has anyone had any luck with polishing them out? I'm concerned with how each area will react to polish. I'm not positive what the material is, specifically the black panel and the roof.

I guess my main question is, can you polish each of these areas.
Has anyone attempted it and if so how did you do it (product, machine, etc)
And finally the results (good or bad)

I've attached some pictures, you can't see the scratches

Any suggestions would be appreciated

I had some light scratches ( swirls ) on the roof as well as rear spoiler after removal for changing stripes.

What has worked best for me is using Mcguiar ultimate compound with mini yellow polishing foam pad mounted on my wireless drill.

Turned out real nice, next step was to then apply Chemical guys paint scelant 109 and finalize everything with a fresh coat of butter wet wax.

Those areas are a PITA to keep mirro scratches from happening. PPF makes it worry/maintenance free.

Shameless plug, watch my video. This was the first time the car was ever washed. . . The black turned out AMAZING with a nice polish, even went the extra step and had the car finished with 22PLE coating.

Most any finishing polish will get them out just use the right pad. Autogeek has plenty of how to videos to point you in the right direction.

Go with the lightest polish and a foam pad with minimal cutting. The black polishes very easily but also scratches/swirls if you look at it funny.

Thanks all for the reaponses!

I went to majestic solutions here in Charlotte and purchased this

The guy that runs it is a detailer and he was concerned with what type of materials each area was (especially the trunk panel) and told me to get on some forums and ask b4 I did anything.

My biggest problem is going to be the panel on the truck. The scratches are under the emblem in the curve of the panel. I think I'm going to have a machine that will except a smaller pad. I'm not willling to buy the machine. So I may hlet a professional tackle it. Unless someone has any ideas.

Thanks again

My entire car is black. How do you think I feel? Lmao.

I suppose that's why I wrapped nearly the whole thing with Xpel

I had a black 335 and if I ever do it again it is getting CQuartz on it right from purchase and maybe expel on top of it. It sucks as I think there is nothing better looking than a polished black car. Especially for a car like the GT350.

I've been a Zaino guy for years for my paint protection for years. It is tedious and time consuming, but I've had great results with it. And if you have any issues you can call them up and they give great product support.

Do it by hand using a small orange cutting pad. No need for a machine to get the scratches out. Used these pads: http://www.autogeek.net/hydro-tech-hand-polish-applicator.html I used Pinnacle swirl remover with a small orange cutting pad and it work like magic as others have indicated. I then turned the pad over and applied a coat of wax. :)

Do you have a machine right now? That Menzerna is an ultra finishing polish and has very little cut (used more to increase gloss). You may need to use something more aggressive and then go over it with the 3800. Like others have said, start with least aggressive and then go heavier if it doesn't take everything out.
