I guess I'm having the questionable honor of having the first European damage to the vehicle here. After all the detailing and stuff, I managed to hit the center curb of the parking garage ramp this morning. I have been parking there every day for the last two months, so I don't really know how it happened. All I know is that I was going up the ramp and suddenly my left rear tire/rim caught the curb end made the front one catch it too. I guess it could have been worse as it's 'only' scrapings, but it's a major bummer :(

Ah that sucks. Luckily alloy wheels are easily fixable nowadays. There are specialists around the country.

Man, I feel for you! I have been so paranoid about curbs and parking garages. If they want too much money to fix just consider it upgrade time and put winter tires on the stock rims.

That's shite buddy! The chap in the vid that detailed your car was really careful with them as well, I'd be suicidal

On the bright side: I don't have to worry about damage to the rims by the guys who will be putting on my wintertires. :/

Ouch, sorry to hear man. I've been doing some travel recently for work in Europe, and some of those parking garages have crazy clearances! I had to do a freaking 4 point turn to round a corner in one. Sounds like a good excuse to get some new wheels to me ;)

Here in Slovakia is a guy who bought US version GT and was renting it. The car was allegedly totaled a month ago, but they took down photos. Hopefully they were able to fix it.

well, wouldn't stick out so much in black would it? though if you "skip" off of the curb I'm not sure protecting just the edge of rims would be enough...

Oh man I fell sad for you! I hit a sidewalk about a month ago but luckily only with the tyre - after 30 seconds of panic I got out of car and no marks! WHOA!

The Dealer came back and indicated it would cost 300-400 EUR excluding VAT, to fix the rims .. Not sure what to do. Sounds kinda steep for just some curb rash. They also want 436 EUR per tire to install some Alpin PA4's. The tire shop around the corner sells the exact same tires including TPMS, installation etc for only 235 incl VAT!

Seems they are not even trying ...
