Covers that are better than the original

There are lots of covers out there. Most aren't as good as the original. Post up something you think is much better than the original.

Edit: the video is pretty terrible. I'd say if you want to enjoy the song don't watch the video.

This will be a generational thing as in artist they like and music style they are into.


I like this over the soft rock original, Those not into hard rock of the '80's might not like it.

Some it is because the original was never really a hit.


Some I like both.

Manfred Mann's Earth Band major hit Blinded by the Light (arguably one of the greatest rock tunes of all time) was a remake -Bruce Springsteen was the OG.

Dead Souls, originally by Joy Division, covered by Nine Inch Nails. Coincidentally, it's on the OST for The Crow, while Hole's cover of Gold Dust Woman is on the OST for The Crow: City of Angels.




Someone already posted Because the Night, but the Keel version. I'll say that no one does that song better than Patti Smith, but the 10,000 Maniacs version is the best of the cover versions, but Garbage did a damn good version with Screaming Females.
