If Ford tried to label a gas powered SUV as a Mustang, the lack of acceptance would be pretty much the same. The real electric Mustang will be coming as the successor to the S650.

I agree, its not so much that its electric, its mostly that its not a sports car in the same way.

Took one on a test drive with my brother. He did not like the power delivery on it, felt like it was holding back power. The one we drove was supposed to do 0-60 in 4.8. What a shame, at least make it super fast and snappy if you are going to call it a Mustang.

I'm still confused to why Ford decided to call it a Mustang, Mach-E alone is fine. Marketing is marketing I guess. I'd like to see a S650 side by side with a Mach-E to see how close they are in design. Maybe a BMW clownshoe-like 2 door would spice up the Mach-E a bit?

They aren't that bad though, for an EV. Most problems are sorted out by now with TSB's or software updates, and the most intrusive thing I've done is pulling the battery for sticking HV contactors. I do wonder how reliable they'll be once they're up there in age though. One battery module is roughly $4k last I checked...and there's 6-8 of those in the whole pack.

So who's gonna be the first to Coyote/LS swap one? Plenty of frunk space!

I don't really care... It's a nice crossover EV. Remember... the first Mustang was actually a Falcon, the second a Pinto, the third a Fairmont, the fourth a Lincoln LS... Why worry about it?

Ford should be ashamed putting the Mustang name on the Mach E Lots sitting unsold on Ford lots in my area. They will go the way of the Lightning... a flop.
