So after 7 weeks on sale with minimal interest apart from one trader who offered £29k over the phone, the car was due to be picked up on Tuesday.

It wasn't that I expected the trader to knock me down even further once here.

It was just that I have waited for Ford to bring the Mustang to the UK for decades.

I placed a deposit the day the prices were announced.

I, along with a lot of you, waited, swapped info, hoovered up everything to do with the new S550.

Bemoaned the position of the handbrake.

Got upset at the white lights and the non working tribars.

Gnashed teeth at the delays.

Tracked the boat that had my car on it, as it made it's way across the Atlantic.

Have had, so far, 11,500 miles of grins.

The trader was supposed to come on Friday. I had an email saying that the car should be clean and ready for inspection.

I spent 3 hours washing it and then the doubts came. I talked it over with me girlfriend and even my ex wife.

My ex wife sent me a text: Yeah cancel the buyer.

I have been in touch with the trader, he's not happy as he's already booked a train ticket from oop North.

I actually feel bad about that. Do feel that I should pay for his ticket.

Long and the short of it is, I"M KEEPING THE MUSTANG :clap2::headbang:

After weeks of not daring to drive it, in case of damage and increasing the mileage, I have just been out to fill the tank.

Seemed churlish not to go for a cheeky blast.

What on Earth was I thinking :D

Sometimes I feel, dare I say it bored with my car. It's because I've had it 17 months and the newness has worn off.I've even thought about selling it on, when a couple of things have gone wrong but then I think about all the years I wanted one and I wouldn't have the financial clout now to buy another one so easily.Of course if I was desperate it would have to go but I'm glad you decided to keep it, it would have been awful seeing it dissappear into the sunset, well done.

very pleased to hear you are keeping it. If money gets tight, give up food, turn off the heating, wear clothes with holes in. Keep driving the Mustang
