Coolers behind the rear fascia / bumper cover removal

Are the coolers and other hardware behind the rear plastic fascia connected at all to the rear bumper cover or underbody panel/diffuser or are they attached only to the actual body? I'm wanting to take off the rear bumper cover to realign the gaps (after warranty work on it that didn't really help much), but when I looked underneath it wasn't obvious if they aren't supported in any way by the bumper that I want to take off.

From what I've seen, they appear to be attached to the body.
