I want to cover my coolant tank, but I don't want to replace the whole thing.

I don't have any carbon fiber now, so that type is not the direction I want to go.

I have been looking at the CPC cover....

and the MMD cover..........

Only $15 difference, so cost is not factor. Just wondering if anyone has one or the other? How's the fit?....etc

Just paint it. You get the same result as the cover and it costs $5. I painted mine a few days after receiving my car and it still looks great almost 3 years later.

I guess you removed and used a rattle can? Just wanted to do as simple as possible. using a cover is 5 minutes work. But I guess by painting it, I can do my engine covers the same time...

Yeah just paint it. Just make sure the surface is clean and you shouldn't have any issues. Looks way better black IMO

Plasti-dip it. Quick, easy, and has lasted 2yrs for me. Remember to tape off a section for coolant level.

^^^^^THIS^^^^^^

I also taped off a little bit to check coolant levels and so far it has lasted 1.5 years with plasti dip from Autozone

I like the MMD if you are going that route.
I don't like the bubble look of the factory unit, and painting or dipping keeps the jellyfish look.
That said, I have a Mishimoto aluminum tank. I like some bling.
$$$ savings mean nothing if you don't like it.

...I used Plasti-Dip on mine, as I thought the covers were way too expensive for me.

I went with the mmd cover, thought it looked cool. Gonna paint the rest myself.

Great feedback guys. Thanx for the thoughts and pics.

Now I REALLY don't know what to do:doh: I was thinking strictly a cover. Now is see painting could be a good option, as well as engine covers at the same time. Or just plasti-dip it black and forget about it

Either way, I have to do something cuz that tank is butt ugly as is. :(

Thanks! I was a little hesitant to spend the money on a cheap abs plastic cover but in the end I think it was worth it
