Didn't get a recommended and the reliability is a bit concerning getting the worst you can get (though not sure how they came to that with it getting 15 red circles and 1 empty (no black marks)). '16 Camaro was too new to get any ratings/feedback. Beat the Challenger by 10 points.

Update:

Just got this from Consumer Report's on the rating:
Our reliability predictions are based on owner surveys and are separate from our testing data.

Was it the "used car" satisfaction that tanked it?

It seems like the 2015 got high marks, but low reliability...

So owners are highly satisfied, it scored well...but didn't get recommended

Meanwhile the BRZ got lower owner satisfaction, marginally higher "reliability"...but got a recommend..

What the hell?

Because if it is not a Honda or Toyota, CR hates it. A$$holes.

No clue dude...How can you get 15 red circles which is great but get a completely black rating.

The ONLY thing I can think of is the used cars probably mean that they either think people abuse their Mustangs or they are heavily modded?

But look at the previous years. Some got multiple empty circles or even half black circles and still got good reliability or best...

What owners did they ask? Cause it seems the people they asked got a mustang when they really wanted a bentley

They get around it by saying "predicted reliability", which only has basis through historical data and massive amounts of interpretation and guessing. No actual data required...

CR data is confusing. All categories Excellent, but CR Prediction Poor?

Consumer Reports’ Car Reliability FAQ
Answers to common questions about our annual survey
Last updated: October 2015
...
How current is the data?

All our reliability information is completely updated annually. We begin sending out each year's survey in the spring. By late summer, we have collected and organized responses, and we complete our analysis and update the information online by late October. The new information first appears in print in the Consumer Reports New Cars, on newsstands in mid-November.

So if Mustang 2015 hit the dealers lots in Nov 2014, then by Survey time, that would be roughly six months of ownership for the earliest adopters. Many will be just a couple of months into ownership. Not enough info really.

Still, 2014 cars look similar. Not too many complaints other than some Noise / Leaks.

According to CR, my car should start falling apart any minute now. You can't believe everything they publish. I'm sure people with BMW's have about as many issues as we do. I personally know several that do. I guess they figure we beat the hell out of our cars (American V8s, all of them) and sell them just before they stop running. 'Tis true though that a lot of high end sports car owners don't beat on them. Still anyone that performs regular maint. on any car these days can see a long life.

For what it is worth (very little IMO), Ford landed in the bottom spot of J.D. Powers reliability poll. Interestingly, Lincoln was at the middle. Wonder what caused Ford to claim last place?

I have never, and will never, trust Consumer Reports for anything. Especially vacuums. For one, they took almost WORD FOR WORD a complaint about my Mercedes (that was a lemon) that I filed with the government (publicly view-able). Never contacted me, never vetted me, nothing. My complaint was just the best written, I guess. Every vacuum I've ever purchased based on their recommendations turned out to be garbage. Pretty much the most boring cars are the ones that top their list (or ultra expensive).

I use it as dentist office reading, that is all.

We all know not to buy a Chrysler unless it has a Cummins.
we all know not to buy a Camaro because it says Camaro on it.
We all know the tranny in our Mustangs is a piece of poop.
We all know Toyotas and Hondas are the most amazing cars everrrrr.
We all know Lexus is even awesomer at every-freakin'-thing.
We all know the Dodge Dart is hard to get into in the back... okay, got it.

Fact is, even recalled cars are statistically reliable if you think about it.

But anyway... time to drink a beer.

Manufacturing transmissions in China clearly without hands-on oversight...?

Most things I've read on Ford reliability over the past years is that its fine except the MyTouchFord/Sync sucks.

From what I've seen more than once . . . SYNC.
