Is there any way to see on the ngauge if it is adding or pulling timing?

You want to monitor the KR PID. (+) KR means it's pulling timing. (-) KR means it's adding timing.

It's should be listed as "knockr deg". If you can't find it, reconnect and see if it finds its.

I noticed a few Timing sensors on my Ngauge. Which one would be best to keep an eye on?
I have both knock - + and total timing or spark advance PID's up. With spark adavance it constantly shows how much timing your motor is running.

I have spark advance. Disconnected and reconnected the NGauge, but still no knockr deg.

Strange!

More than likely you're running an older firmware version on your nGauge. New PID's get added with the FW revisions.

Running 195, which I think is the latest.

Solved the issue.

I had the scanned the car in 'Generic OBD', and you need to scan it in 'Ford 2008 UP'

I now have the Knock PID, as well as quite a few other new ones :)

Just been out and run the car.

5th gear WOT pull from 40mph...... = -10.0.......

So its adding more than 10deg of timing, which is a good thing... right!

why the hell would you go WOT in 5th from 40? put it in second and then go WOT, should be a couple degrees in the (-). maybe even a degree or two in the (+) if you have bad fuel.

Why the hell wouldnt I?

I want to see what the car is doing under extreme circumstances. A pull in 5th from about 40mph puts the engine under load... I want to see what its doing in those circumstances.

In any case, looks like the ECU is starting to tune itself in to the fuel... I have a 91-93 flex tune, and have been running 91 for the last few months. Im now back on 93 and will put a few tanks through and see what the ECU does.
