Has anyone here has OEM parts carbon fiber "wrapped" or laminated? Thinking about the ground effects kit and various engine compartment and interior items.

Hydro dipped, parts looked good for a while and then turned bluish.

Replaced with APR carbon, cost more, but works and looks great!

I believe the OP is asking if anyone has just wrapped the actual parts in real carbonfiber and resin.

To my knowledge, this hasn't been done. It would definitely be cheaper than buying all CF parts but it would require tools/time.

I'm getting some parts wrapped CF. I wanted to do my splitter, side splitters and rear valance but my installer said they couldn't be wrapped. He said they are an oil-impregnated urethane and had to be sealed before they could be wrapped. He recommended hydrodipping them.
He is going to wrap my heat extractors, mirror covers and tail panel in 3M 1080 carbon fiber wrap.
