Clearly they had a "tuned" Ford press car, a prepped track on the most optimal day of the year that was down hill and had a professional drag racer take it down when the tailwinds were high.

They do that test in 6th gear. I never understood that.....if I’m accelerating at those speeds, I’m downshifting.

i didnt even notice the 50-70 difference. that doesnt make any sense. should at least be 5th gear if its to simulate passing someone. or like 3rd gear if going for speed. i assume they just stomped it. and the auto oops downshifted. lol

Ya and when you stomp the auto, it's gone. I don't understand that comparison at all. They should have put the car in sport and paddle to 10th and stomp it, lol.

those 50-70 results on all the manual cars are idiotic compared to the autos. The autos are downshifting into peak power, where as the manuals are lugging in 6th. Nonsense comparison.

Aside from that, the 18 6 speed is about 3/10 and 3 mph faster than the 16 6 speed they listed lower in the article. That sounds about right as the 18 is about 25 HP more than the 15-17.

Confirms that 10 speed is crazy good for acceleration (5/10 sec and 5 MPH over MT-82)

Dont think I’ve ever seen a magazine test a Camaro that fast before. Good thing magazine results are “Not to be used this year”.:doh:
