I absolutely love mine, the sound is amazing alone. Performance wise I have no clue since I haven't had it on the rollers but the butt dyno noticed a few ponies. Only regret I have is not getting the wrinkle black to aid in blocking out some of the engine bay temps, I may just have it ceramic coated or just header wrap it.

How would black paint reduce temps? I've never seen Adam claim that.

Adam never claimed that the wrinkle black finish would reduce temps. Its purely cosmetic.

I never claimed that he said that either. I'm just saying that a coated one of any kind is gonna have cooler temps than raw material.

It's still the same material, I think.

I would think a coated one would take longer to cool down since the paint would trap heat?

Yeah, I would not be wrapping or adding extra coating. If you look at that original intake R&D post (http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showpost.php?p=451003&postcount=46), he specifically addresses aluminum vs SS and its ability to cool down between runs.

The second you sit in stop and go traffic, your insulated intake is going to retain the heat soak that much longer.

First, it is powdercoating not paint. Powdercoating will not aid or decrease the intakes ability to disperse or retain heat. It's purely cosmetic and the performance between the two is the same.

Intake is a good addition to the Mustang, but there are a few things I would recommend before the intake to see bigger gains.

1. Tune - MAP Cobb Accessport

2. Intercooler - MAP Billet Endtank Intercooler or MAP Intercooler and Pipes

3. Downpipe - Catless Downpipe or Catted Downpipe

Before you do any modifications I highly recommend swapping out your stock plugs.

So anyone else with this CAI, can you provide some input on performance gains?

I have it, the wrinkle black and love the look of the PC; I cannot comment on the gains as I installed it the same time I did the DP, cat back and tune.

If you look in Adam's thread they did dyno the car with just the CAI on it and he posted the gains; a safe est of power would be 15/15 with most CAI's.

There are over 120 people with our intake, I'm sure you can come across some reviews here. Gains are dependent on car but we have seen between 10 and 15whp.

Are those gain in the upper RPM range like the V8 cars or are they better across the RPM range?

Here is our intake video, you can see towards the end of the video the dynograph. It makes an increase in power from the start all the way to 5,000rpms. The power then equals out at 5,000rpms because of the factory intercooler.
