Cool, the only reason you are noticing that is b/c you are looking for it, 99.995% of normal humans would never see that. It is a small price to pay for the protection.
Yea I know, I am not bothered, Just the other guy wanted close up pictures. There is a huge thread about doing stripes or not doing strips. Then doing the hood in one piece vs separate pieces for the stripes. Some people want it to be perfect but it will never be. I like one huge piece, it is super easy to wash the front because I dont have to worry about the stripe edges anymore.:D

Thanks for taking the close up pictures Blaze489. I was told by a vendor that he would have to cut the film along the edge of the stripes or it will leave air pockets. I wanted to see if it was a valid concern and seeing your pictures settles it. I will go with the full hood - one piece.

FYI.. the reason xpel full hood cover works on your car is that you have white border stripes and the white outline literally goes un-noticed. My DIB with white OTT stripes has a black edge which would show a white air bubble down the seam length. My installer started out installing a single hood cover and scrapped it as it did not look good....

for those that don't see it.... the black inside seam shows a distinct white line the length of the seam. NOT GOOD... IMO

Question for ya - I can see what looks like some orange peel texture on the PPF - is that like that only on the PPF that goes over the stripes or is it like that on the rest of the car as well? I'd like to minimize that "effect".

Looks like only on the stripes, but you have to go super close to see it, I think its because the stripes are black and we all know black shows imperfections the easiest.

Every person that comes up to my car doesn't even know it has the clear bra until I say it does, and even after that I have to point out the edges for them to see it. So some still cant see it even though I told them it has it.

Nice. In the last shot I see wet tire marks. How does it do on the water? :)
Pretty good, but it would have more paddle traction if it had cup 2's

If you buy the kits from Xpel that are cut for the ott stripes, good luck matching up the Xpel to the factory installed ott stripes because I guarantee you the lines will not line up. I replaced my ott stripes from the cowl to the splitter because of some minor hazing from the factory. The stripes are pretty pricey. I measured my hood stripes and they were offset to one side by 3/16" from the factory. I installed a one piece sheet of Xpel also. I washed the whole car, used a clay bar, then used a painters tack cloth before applying each sheet of Xpel. I also worked from the stripes edge inward to remove the gel and worked it down the panel. Then I went over it with a heat gun on the low setting. Can't tell it's even on there. All I can say is if you do this yourself like I did, take your time and don't rush. Also, the precut Xpel sheets fit excellent! And you can stretch them enough to wrap the edges.

Cars and Coffee this past weekend

https://www.facebook.com/CarsAndCoffeeNO/?fref=ts

We had 10 mustangs/shelbys rolling together to the meet. It was to tough to all go in one lane to stat together,so in some places we just took up all three lanes :headbang:

Some minor races may have occurred on the way there ;)
