Fellow enthusiasts,

While on a nice afternoon drive today, I had a decent size bird hit directly in the middle of my upper grill. After getting out to look at the damage, I noticed the radiator took some of the hit too. I cannot detect any leaks, and everything appears to be running normally.

My question, does this damage look to be enough that I should consider replacing the radiator or as long as everything is running normally, I am good?

Thanks for everyone's advice.

I would replace it ... peace of mind down the road.

Thats the way I'm leaning, but I just do not know very much about radiators so I thought I would get some input. Thanks man.

No need to replace it if it isn't leaking. I would verify nothing is bent or kinked and then hose and brush it off. I would spend some time attempting to straighten out the fins though.

No, it's the condenser (radiator) for the the A/C system. If you loose A/C you'll know why.
Thanks man. I suppose that is a little better than it being the radiator.

BTW, Most insurance companies consider animal strikes as "comprehensive" or "other than collision" claims and do not count as a hit/points against you. You might consider filing a claim after considering what your deductible is and confirm how your insurance carrier would handle it. Just a thought. That's going to be an expensive repair.
