Bandimere family said in a news release that they are selling the property and surrounding land, which is just over a ridge from the famous Red Rocks Amphitheater.

Whelp. another one gone from the pressures of the locals and power that be.
After most of the tracks are gone, racers will look back and say, maybe if we were out of sight/ear shot. and used mufflers because the technology was there and the cars fast enough that it not really harm the speed, et's. we still have tracks to race on.

It isn't the 60's/70's when the general public was into the love of the automobile .
It has been proven time after time, the track being there first, no one in power cares.
Drag racers are at a cross road, double down on the dumb and keep running wide open pipes, or mufflers that are a joke, and have track after track fold.
Or put on the big boy pants and say I am willing to lose a tenth or two, and put on real mufflers.
What will they choose ?

Nah, lets put drag racing into the history books, duck those that don't like the noise.

Not sure that's always the case. Realestate has gotten so valuable, at some point making a living using the land, or setting up your kids and grand kids for life becomes an easy choice.

Did you read the press release. they will be looking for a new location. now, weather that is true or just blowing smoke up the racers @$$es , who knows.
But Track owners are sick and tired of going to bat for racers that can't ducking be bothered making it easier on the track.

Why are they closing Bandimere Speedway?


The final NHRA event at Bandimere will be the 2023 Dodge Power Brokers NHRA Mile-High Nationals on July 14-16. The track owners looked to rezone the property in May 2021 to allow the construction of a grocery store, restaurants and houses on the site.
