I done a few laps of this place today, it puts a whole new perspective on what you see on TV. The poster was in the museum and I'm posting the photo just because.

It's an awsome road, even at the 60 kph speed limit. I did far too many "laps" in my XR6 many years ago, the "Chase" is my favorite part of the lap, so addictive.

It's an awsome road, even at the 60 kph speed limit. I did far too many "laps" in my XR6 many years ago, the "Chase" is my favorite part of the lap, so addictive.
That looks quite steep on the way down, you dont get that perspective from the racing games. Is it very steep?

I wouldnt be much good on it, I nearly crap myself going over the Gateway Bridge in Brissie...

Very steep, up and down. People were using it for walking/exercise, no idea why you would subject yourself to that pain.
You find out just how steep it is when you come through the dipper at race speed and the road just drops from under you, followed by the thump as you come back down to road level.

Even the gradient down into Forrests Elbow is pretty dramatic when you are trying to slow the car down to cornering speed.
