I am looking into adding another Porsche (997.2 PDK) to compliment the Shelby GT350 Track Pack and 997S 6 speed I already own - especially with prices in the mid 40's for nice examples I think the 997 is one of the best used car buys on the market.

I will say the new M2 does looks like a nice departure from the current BMW lineup and more rooted in traditional M racing cars - reminds me of the 1M coupe series which is one of my favorite BMW's made.

Priced at 50k - might have to consider it. Thoughts?

I was thinking of skipping the Shelby altogether and go that route since these dealers around me all want $20k over MSRP. :(

Not me but I did see it at the Chicago Auto Show. Cool car though... it reminds of my previous e36 M3.

To me I'd rather have the GT350 and add something else... like as you stated a late model 911.

I like it. I don't think I would get one before a GT350, though. If they would hit the magic 400hp mark, I'd be more excited.

You don’t want to know
If my GT 350, which is being completed tomorrow at Flat Rock, doesn't arrive in acceptable condition (yes, I'm a little paranoid on that point), the M2 is next on my list. At this point, my heart is still with the GT 350.

Oh definitely not - this would be like a 4th car that the wife could drive and I could track on occasion as well. Obviously the M2 doesn't come close to the GT350. Not my intended discussion.

Are they selling at sticker or are the dealers marking them up too?

They're not even available yet, so no idea.

I have an allocation but no solid pricing yet. Biggest detractor for me is that they are not offering individual on it. The facility that makes them is different than the M3/4 facility, and cannot accommodate individual.

I am thinking that I will sell my spot...

I am on the list for an HEA at MSRP from my local dealer. That would put it around $54,500.

So if I could have a few performance cars, this would definitely be on the list. Sounds fun.

PS - Imagine when these are tuned to 450.

Nothing to add to this thread but, the car gods owe you one

Honestly I'd rather spend twice the amount and get a Boxster Spyder or GT4. The M2 is pretty cool though. Just doesn't really excite me.

I was waiting for it but really don't like the way they flared the rear quarter all the way into rear bumper. Looks like a diaper booty, lol.

I also do not like the rear quarter design. But each to their own. If I, I mean WE, get another car, the wife likes the CLA Mercedes; also has to be auto, since she can't drive a stick.
