Yeah bro, I wish now that I would have gotten the auto. Just never had an auto car. I'm going to give DSS carbon fiber shaft a try next. But, everything else is solid. I have all BMR parts and I had zero wheel hop on the first pass. However, I just haven't heard of many aftermarket driveshafts breaking. I have done multiple searches. It was actually a pretty clean break at the weld. This happens a lot. Especially on the 19-20 radials with aggressive launches. I broke aluminum and carbon fiber. It does not matter what brand they break. You need to get aluminum bushings everywhere and vikings and larger bolts to hold the differential. The diff bolts are the next thing to go out. GOOD LUCK
This is 100% the reason I sold a manual and went with a auto.
I completely agree. I had zero wheel hop with all of my BMR parts. Once I dropped the psi on my tires, it hooked even with NT555Rs. But a little too much for the driveshaft lol. The BMR loop did it's job really well. My MGW didn't get banged up at all.Due to the awkward driveline angles in these cars, I am of the firm opinion that once you start making substantial power with the S550, that you really need to lock the cradle in place with either bushings or OUR lockout kit, and use solid diff mounts.
The issue is, most people won't go for solid diff mounts due to the NVH.
Thanks bro! I am buying jmeo's carbon fiber DSS. The price was too go to pass up. If that one breaks then I will go with PST. Maybe get one of their steel shafts lol.Try pst instead of DSS. I find them to make a better shaft. PST requires you to take a measurement, with whatever your current suspension modifications are so its custom fit to your car and set up.
