I have a 2017 Ecoboost with 275/35R20 wheels all the way around as pictured. I was due to replace the tires and brake pads in a couple of months. Yesterday, I hit a curb and nicked up my driver front wheel and tore a small gash in the tire sidewall. I don’t want to replace just one tire so Im planning to go ahead and replace them all now instead of waiting. I also really want to replace that wheel and this is where I need advice.
That OEM wheel will run me around $550 online and probably more at the dealership. I’m considering this as an option to purchase a set of aftermarket wheels and if I do that, it opens up all the options. I can get decent wheels for under $300 each so it seems viable to replace them all rather than drop nearly $600 on just one OEM.
I do commute 80 miles round trip 5 days per week and I know if I swapped out to 19’s, it would be a smoother ride but I do like the look of 20’s. Maybe 19’s if I had it lowered a little. I’m not sure, given the color of my interior, if black wheels would look good, a dark grey, or stick with the machined look. Or should I just replace the one wheel and keep things as is? I know it’s my car, my decision, just looking for feedback. Thanks!
