So I am getting a 2015 Guard GT/PP this week and want to get a good set of detailing supplies. I have $300 in rewards cash to use towards this.

What I have: Nothing... Well I guess I have a hose

What I Want: A good starting point for detailing

What would you guys get?? Try to keep it as close to $300 as possible but a little over isn't a big deal

I am pretty sure I will be using CG so ideas from them are encouraged

I use CG stuff as well. Currently I have alot of their microfiber towels and wished they would of held up longer. Check out http://www.theragcompany.com/ for your towels/wash mitts. Im going to try them for my next order sense Ive heard alot of good feedback about them recently.

Optimum No Rinse Wash & Shine...you can use it for Rinseless washes (which I never do) and it can be diluted for Quick Detailer/Clay Lube. http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/111893764947?ul_noapp=true&chn=ps&lpid=82

Any of the CG soaps are good, but get one for washing and another for your Foam Gun.
For washes:
http://www.amazon.com/Chemical-Guys...75&sr=8-2&keywords=chemical+guys+wash+and+wax

For Foam Gun:
http://www.amazon.com/Gilmour-95QGF...=UTF8&qid=1455494660&sr=8-1&keywords=foam+gun

As far as buckets go, get them at your local hardware store. I got 5 gallon buckets at Home Depot for less than what they charge for 3 gallon buckets online. Grit Guards are a good idea. A couple of those.

http://www.amazon.com/Grit-Guard-In...TF8&qid=1455494788&sr=1-3&keywords=grit+guard

Empty bottles for Quick Detailer and anything else you might get that needs diluting.
http://www.amazon.com/24-Oz-Sprayer...455494889&sr=8-7&keywords=bottle+with+sprayer

A good All purpose cleaner can be used for cleaning wheels, and some interior surfaces. Id stay away from Leather/Suede with it though. Just has to be diluted differently depending on what your cleaning.

http://www.amazon.com/Simple-Green-...8&qid=1455495098&sr=8-1&keywords=simple+green

Tire dressing. My go to is
http://www.amazon.com/Chemical-Guys...&qid=1455495216&sr=8-7&keywords=tire+dressing

Applicators for dressing/wax. These are extremely cheap and are pretty much a one time use. Ive tried cleaning and reusing but they just done come clean. Use them once and chuck em. Pack of 60.

http://www.amazon.com/Factory-Direc...id=1455495320&sr=1-5&keywords=Foam+applicator

Easy to use wax. Apply in shade or sun. Another go to for me.
http://www.amazon.com/oz-Poorboys-B...=UTF8&qid=1455495431&sr=1-4&keywords=poorboys

Wax starts to fail over 100 degrees. Sealant is the way to go in the hotter times of the year.

http://www.amazon.com/Chemical-Guys...455495512&sr=1-1&keywords=chemical+guys+blitz

Glaze is good for enhancing the shine on your car. Its subjective and basically based on how much you want to spend. Many swear by Blacklight by CG, I havent tried it but Ive used this one and its good.

http://www.amazon.com/Chemical-Guys...455495673&sr=1-3&keywords=chemical+guys+glaze

Random other pieces

Inside the fenders/Engine Bay/Tires
http://www.amazon.com/Chemical-Guys...455495748&sr=1-20&keywords=car+cleaning+brush

Wheels
http://www.amazon.com/Chemical-Guys..._UL160_SR160,160_&refRID=1EM7YQSYR3T69135J2B2

Dry your car with this!!
http://www.amazon.com/Performance-T...F8&qid=1455495893&sr=1-1&keywords=leaf+blower

I have no idea what that equals up to. Just some basic recommendations. I detail from time to time. If you have any questions PM me!

If you have a good amount left, get more towels. Can never have enough lol. Different types for different cleaning.

Fairly good list Allen. The only thing I can STRONGLY disagree with is your blower suggestion. While the one you linked blows air at 75+ MPH, which is good, it lacks the ability to move a large volume of air, which is what you need. It only moves 75CFM. You want something like this: http://www.amazon.com/WG520-Electric-Turbine-Blower-Yellow/dp/B01B79BD6C/ref=sr_1_18?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1455498392&sr=1-18&refinements=p_n_power_source_browse-bin%3A492227011
It moves over 400CFM at over 100MPH. (click on the 450CFM version once you're in amazon)

Agree 100%. I use the Master Blaster personally. Just found something budget friendly for the OP.

Just curious, is there anything else that you would change according to the budget? Maybe some things I can look into getting further down the road or maybe I can just add a little more out of pocket now if its worth it

Thanks for the blower link bmailpb
My wife had a small electric blower I tried to use last week. :frusty:
It didn't move the water much at all. Is there a reason to get the 450 cfm over the 590 for 10 bucks more at the Amazon link?

Metro makes a good little vacuum that i bought but I cant find it now. Mine came with a hose. This one is actually a vacuum and a blower.

If you water supply is "hard" water Id look into a Water softener kit. Im needing one myself. There was a thread about one a couple days ago..

What the deal with the blower in the first place. What's wrong with a California jelly blade and a lint free microfiber towel or a genuine chamois?

The more you touch the car, the more chance you have of scratching it. Regardless of what your touching it with. Also, water tends to get stuck behind the side markers, taillights, under the factory spoiler, in the side mirrors etc. So after you clean the car, the next time you drive it the water will run down the side and more than likely streak. Just really boils down to how picky you are with your car.
