I know in the 2011-14 cars people found 3.31's to be the shortest effective gear with the fastest times. Given the transmission ratios have not changed, wouldn't it stand to reason the same holds true?

There are a few considerations. Stock rev limit? Tire size/diameter? Plan to stay in 3rd gear through the 1/4 mile or finish in 4th? Stock converter? Forced induction?

I've had very good success running 4.10's in my '14 GT automatic, despite plenty of "experts" telling me that I screwed up by going with 4.10's vs 3.31's or staying with the factory 3.15's.

I have a 5,000 rpm Circle-D stall converter (which is now available for 2015 GT's, by the way) and run 28" tall drag radials. The extra shift (into 4th gear) in the 1/4 mile doesn't matter since my stall converter keeps the revs up high and the PCM tuning features lightning quick shifts.

Ultimately, the transmission gearing (4.17:1 first gear, for example) really helps the automatics accelerate very quickly regardless of rear end gear ratio. However, street drivability is enhanced a lot with steeper gearing, IMO, so even if I weren't drag racing so often I'd still want steeper gears.

The problem is the gear can not be changed in the bcm/body control module yet. What does it affect? I'm Not totally sure yet, shifting in a auto for sure. Speedo, gps location,

that is interesting, I didn't realize that that portion of the PCM was still locked out
