All the wheels on these builder pictures look to have a quadzillion ET value :headbonk:

I was shocked at first as I was building this and thinking about how much I paid for my 2015. But then I remembered no one actually pays these prices. Even on launch day, between manufacturer incentives and X-plan, you can shave off a good $5K+, I'm sure.

In a couple years, I expect you could order a nearly fully loaded Mustang with a good $7-8K worth of dealer + manufacturer incentives.

8K more than I paid for mine with the exact same options. And no, I did not select magnaride.

The build page "hasn't been released yet" according to Ford chat. I was curious where the over-the-top stripe went, and then a chat request popped up, so I took advantage to ask where the stripes were or if they got axed. They said they were still options, so I asked again if I should be seeing them right now, and I was told I must be looking at a "Future Vehicles" build page, so yes it was incomplete.

So expect bugs and missing options for a bit.

They have to start with higher MSRPs and then come down with discounts.
Consider:
1. Need to avoid cannibalizing GT350 sales.
2. 460hp rating is SANDBAGGED and these things will be closer to 475-500. No way a jump from 11:1 to 12:1 only gets you to 460. Lol, such shenanigans.
3. Bringing pricing in line with main competitor (Camaro) where lost market share is worth the increase in margin.
4. PP2 (673) may be mechanically a GT350 but 5.0PDI instead of 5.2FPC. Or possibly all coolers and brakes needed to track reliably.

I recently drove an M2 for a few hours and in the Mustang's defense, an M2 will feel downright slow compared to a 2018. Even my 16 feels way faster in a straight line. Really the only thing the M2 has going for it is it's lighter weight.
And the fact that it's been repeatedly called the most pure driving car since the BMW E30 M3.

Honestly, I'm more interested in the size of the car. I hate how big the Mustang is. It's like 4-5 inches longer than the 4 door M3. So if my wife told me tomorrow that she'd be cool with buying a $55k car, I'd have an M2 or a used M3, not a mustang.

IDGAF about a heated steering wheel. I've got some decisions to make.
What are you going to do on those freezing cold 60*F mornings?? :D

True most people will never pay MSRP. It's just that discount is coming off a much higher starting price.

Welp, Ford just killed any interest I had in going with a 2018 GT. Guess I'll just go buy me another F-150.

It looks like the pricing we were looking at is the supposed x-plan pricing.

My browser was cached with the x-plan link when I posted that link. Closed browser, modified the 2017 B&P MSRP link and now the GT Premium starts at $39,095

Shame.

What was a $41,695 build via the x-plan link is now $43,890 via the MSRP link.

Here's that link (MSRP): http://shop.ford.com/build/mustang/...018|1|1.|400A.P8C.....COU.MST.~YZKAA.GT.PRE.]

And the before-posted X-Plan link for anyone who wants to compare: http://shop.ford.com/build/mustang/...|1|1.|100A.P8T.....COU.MST.~YZKAA.EBST.LESS.]

Prices look to be accurate.

Sooo part of build and price is that cloth recaps are not available anymore? Please tell me I'm wrong haha
No more cloth Recaro seats in base EB and GT models without PP+. Leather Recaro seats are only available in Premium Fastback models, and not compatible with the Carbon Sport Interior Package 68C.

My only real complaint is that you have to have 301A and PP to have magnaride. I can understand the PP, but I don't need no stinking entertainment toys in my go-fast car.
