The odd thing, is that it still pulls like a beast. Other than the noise, I had no indication that something was different.Yes, that is the rattle. Ugh, hate that sound.
Here is one with me driving.
I have more lol :headbonk:
He is already with us!!! :cheers:MMGA! Make Mustangs Great Again!
Yes, that's exactly what mine "currently" sounds like.Yes, that is the rattle. Ugh, hate that sound.

You wont see knock. Take the engine apart and you will se scraping thoughDid some datalogging tonight at cold start and driving around a bit. No matter how loud the rattle is, I am not seeing even 1 count of knock. So odd.
If there is piston slap, it should be picked up by the knock sensors. Hell, these are so sensitive, you will see knock count from headers rattling. You wont see knock. Take the engine apart and you will se scraping though
Knock is normally detonation (pinging), which means improper combustion. It causes extra load on the rings, pistons, and rods. However, our cars have multiple knock sensors, which pick up most rattling in the engine. A few guys have measured knock from exhaust system rattles. As loud as this is, I expected to see something off in the logs.Would knock mean it's engine damage or a DPFI situation? I'll need some splaning. I'm just a truck driver lol.
We really do have sister cars. Mine has gotten just as bad. Once the oil temp is 3/4 of the way through the green zone after some spirited driving, the engine sounds like it’s going to fall apart. For comparison, the rattle was much more mild during the first 500 miles and there was no knock.
Here's my rattle windows down bouncing off of houses. Fully warm. When I first left work the first 1/2 mile that rattle was singing. It more sounds like scratching/tapping to me now.
Good news my wife is open to a HellKitty as long as its stick lol. She goes "we never drive your car on long trips anyway"
