Congrats. Hope it didn't hurt too much financially.

I get not liking the mt-82. Mine started making a lot less nose after about 1500km. Still thuds though - wish it didn't do that.

I love the 3.73s. If the short first gear gets on your nerves, can start in 2nd gear when driving 'normally' and 6th is not completely anemic.

Me too! Probably won't love the 3.73s too much after I put some boost to it but n/a I think they are great.
If you go with a centri, I bet the 3.73s will still be great.

3.31 manual is the perfect daily driver IMO, if you want to pass people shift to 5th on the highway otherwise 6th gear gets me 28mpg on long trips which blows my mind with a 435hp v8! 3.31 much easier to drive in Chicago winter as well

The auto trans takes more fuel due to having a torque converter vs. a manual clutch. My old 86 trans am had a torque converter lock out feature in overdrive. Not sure if ford ever offered that. It helped alot with the mileage on highway.

I average (18mpg) 1 mpg less with my auto GT (3.55 gear) than I did with my manual GT did. Same commute and driving habit.

Not a fan of the MT82 personally.
GT500 and GT350 are the stangs I'd take with manual.

The new cars have the torque convertor locked up in all gears but 1st.

I bought my gt/cs auto with 3:55's and i knew from past experience not to buy another mt-82. I don't care how well they dress it up its still a garbage transmission. They should have went with a tremec when the 15's came out. My current car has every option you can get on a mustang minus the gloss black roof, but i have 3m vinyl wrap on order to take care of that. Autos are faster more reliable and dont need any mods when adding big power.. Im Really loving this car. Got wheels on order as well. Gonna hook this thing up and enjoy every minute I'm in it!

I would say autos are more consistent not faster. Especially at autoX. Maybe if it's a drag queen and have a fat stall. But I'd never switch to auto. I'd upgrade my tranny before I did thay let alone switch the whole car. Im.curious what are the issues you guys are having with mt82?

How do you like downshifting/rev matching with the paddles and sport mode etc?

I feel the GT PP would be more fun to daily drive if it had a smoother shifting manual transmission.
lol what? smoother shifting?? its better than butter.. its perfect. just because you hear the clacking of parts doesnt mean its not smooth shifting lmfao. did you ever drive a boss 302? it does the same thing. you hear the mechanics of the drive train working.

They're not "better than butter". They're garbage. Sorry. That's just the truth.
