Around here we have a "bone stock" night weekly where every car has to be absolutely factory, not even an aftermarket air filter. You can run 1/8 or 1/4 mile race.
My 14 GT premium automatic has never lost to a 15-17 Mustang GT automatic or stick. I have lost to a 16 Camaro SS automatic.
I was thinking of trading for a new Mustang but why go slower ? What's happening with the new Mustangs ?
Thanks.

The S197 is lighter. Have you driven a S550? The small decrease in speed is worth the better chassis, and interior. Nothing wrong with your 14 either. From what I've seen in the Auto Publications, the S550 is usually 1/10th slower in the 1/4.

1. Who cares which one's faster.
2. If you care about 1/4 mile times so much, stick with a SRA.

Yeah s550 is heavier but....irs is way better for driving unless you only drag race. It has much nicer interior finishes, a stronger engine if you want fi. Its just a more "high dollar" feeling car for lack of better words. S197 is still nice, not downing your car. And as far as the camaro? If you like feeling closed in and always wanted hummer windows, it is faster in stock form now.:D

Guess you have never sat or seen a s550 interior or test drove one . Don't drive one or you will trade your 1/2 second faster car in

All of the quality and mechanical issues with S550 platform are worth mentioning. I just got rid of my S550 and have a 14 Cali Special GT. I'm personally much happier with the 14 at this point.
