Special delivery from @NavsENG today. Thanks dude for the machining - the machining is top notch. And thanks, @5.2 liters of democracy for helping with the CAD. The remote oil filter blocks have a unique thread for the sensor for my specific oil temp/pressure sensor (M10 vs factory 1/4npt) and...

Got a bit further on the radiator ducting last night. Using super thin/cheap AL for rev1 because I want to make it out of CF once I know it works. Needs a bit more trimming and then some reinforcement. Then mounting points and we should be good to go. Then off to the intake! Also got a pic...

Ha. Appreciate the kind words. I'm trying to write so that normies like me can understand and gain context. I've learned pretty much everything through forums and YouTube, so just trying to repay the favor. If I can help encourage at least one of ya'll to build your own race car, I'll consider...
  5. I wonder if we’ll ever see another GT350 type Mustang from Ford

Sorry - couldnā€™t help myself. You guys were making me laugh. FWIW - as a somewhat younger guy (33), most younger guys I know buying mustangs just arenā€™t on forums like this. Theyā€™re on different platforms. mustangs are fairly expensive to mod these days. At the track, most of the racers that...
  6. Honey Badger's Completely Off-the-Rails Race Car Build and Track Adventure Thread

Story time! It was eventful weekend at the badger house. On Thursday, I put at a bat signal on the Link ECU facebook group looking for some help with a base map. I had a couple local race shops I was talking to about tuning the car, but I've been having a ton of trouble getting on their...

FInal fitment of the rear bulkhead before I took it out to paint. It's drying now and should be ready to go in for the final time tomorrow. Awhhh ya. Also - got a special delivery today. I have a bit of an ambitious exhaust project to try and squeeze into the next couple weeks and some...
  8. Honey Badger's Completely Off-the-Rails Race Car Build and Track Adventure Thread

I was down all weekend with a monster migraine that came out of nowhere - so lost a few days. But got back at it on Monday after work as was able to make some headway. I finally finished up the pedal box install. As mentioned in a previous post, I upgraded to the Tilton 850 series underfoot...

Got the wiring buttoned up last night and happy with how everything came out considering it's me. I'll do an in-depth overview video of what's what and how they all integrate in a future overview video. Running like mad to get the car fired this week
  10. Honey Badger's Completely Off-the-Rails Race Car Build and Track Adventure Thread

my base tune is on the to-do list tomorrow from my tuner, so should be happening soon! Getting really itchy to get it fired up and make sure it doesnā€™t immediately grenade šŸ˜‚
  11. 2020 GT350R Heritage Build Thread (Heavy Build)

I like how AJ races his own stuff and like SHane said, he works with you to customize as needed. His stuff is proven and is priced fairly. For example, the rear diffuser is $2,500 and develops just under 300lbs of down force on an S550 at 150 mph - this data is verified in a wind tunnel...
  12. Honey Badger's Completely Off-the-Rails Race Car Build and Track Adventure Thread

More progress. The wiring is done. Just need to start the car and verify before I heat shrink the remaining boots. Will take pics tonight after I clean up the mess I made yesterday chasing a few pins/sockets that had been swapped. I did relocate the reservoir tank to the cage for easy...
  13. 2020 GT350R Heritage Build Thread (Heavy Build)

My personal recommendation is AJ Hartman or Verus front (not sure if they've done a larger rear diffuser yet). I've seen quite a few AR parts come off cars over the last 2 years (some broke, some switched for parts developed in an actual wind tunnel (AJ/Verus).
  14. What is a towing capacity to shoot for to drag the GT350 around?

I've towed with everything from a Suburban to an F150 to a Raptor and now to 3/4 and full ton pickups I had about 23k towing miles on this setup - truck had bags and a weight distribution hitch and trailer weighed about 7k lbs. It got me around and never put me in a spot of danger - but it was...
  15. Honey Badger's Completely Off-the-Rails Race Car Build and Track Adventure Thread

Custom front crash bar/tow hook setup is complete. Bar is right up against the bumper, maximizing clearance to the radiator for the future ducting. Not the most meticulously fabricated piece, but it should be plenty strong and super functional. I have the wiring 98% buttoned up - just need...
  16. SPL adjustable LCA and tension rod install

Are you torquing the nut and not the bolt? I can't figure out how you're snapping those so consistently. They're an incredibly beefy part
  17. Road Racers - Weight savings and mods

Ya - as soon as it cools down, you get full RPM back. Quite literally how it works. have fun tho
  18. Road Racers - Weight savings and mods

that's literally what limp mode is.....preventing failure
  19. Road Racers - Weight savings and mods

How come? the whole point of the limp mode capabilities in the ECU is to prevent damage. Changing cooling before it's a problem just introduces more failure points
  20. Honey Badger's Completely Off-the-Rails Race Car Build and Track Adventure Thread

Yeah - the track is pretty good right now. I was out there weekend before SLB instructing and it was grippy. Will be pretty slick in July heat - but not from the bumps/old asphalt. The best event of the year is December, IMHO. I'd try to make it to that if you can. Will be great to meet up. Do...
