There will be additional software updates. What's included I don't know yet. Basic software updates would be free. If there are major updates such as Apple car play there might be a small software upgrade fee for.

How straight forward is the install?

Very. 8-10 bolts get everything unbolted from the car. You then just have to swap over the motherboard from the factory screen and bezel. Bunch of torx screws separate the unit and just place it in the new unit. Move over the buttons and screw new unit together and wire up. No cutting wires, no chopping anything up. First time of course takes longer but I think I could do it all in 30 minutes now.

First, never answered rather this kit will still use the proximity sensors in rear bumper. Can we please get an answer to that?

Second, if I bought this unit, I wouldn't expect to pay for any software updates, no matter what was added, period.

Here is a YouTube video of the TomTop installation in a 2015/16 Mustang(Credit to Joel S550), Use it for info on removing the dash components. The Author could have made the video with a little more detail. And believe me guys it's easy to do the installation, Just be careful removing the panel that runs across the dash with the gauges in it because it is held in with plastic retainer clips that could break or pop out and fall inside the dash So picking up a few at the dealer might be a good idea.

Same here, will the prox sensors in my rear bumper work with the reverse assist camera in my car with this new unit installed?

I haven't tested the censors but it should be no different as it just sends the camera and signals to a new screen.

As for cobra start up screen at this time the images aren't able to be changed unfortunately.
