Paint pitting

Noticed on my trunk lid just under the spoiler my paint started to dip down. Looks like it settled and is making craters. I took it to the dealer and they took pictures and sent them to ford to see what to do.

At a local car show just this weekend someone pointed out the same thing on my black GT.

Its on my hood on the underside but it also has a build date of 10/14. have yet to get it to the dealer, most likely will go next weekend.

Yep. I got one little drop of tree sap, some type of pine, on my car last month in Colorado. It was washed in the evening and the next morning I could not believe how quickly it ate through the wax. I took care of it but it was nasty stuff.

Finally heard back from Ford and they are denying my claim. Said it was caused by an outside source. Not happy at all. Brand new car that has an eye sore from hell.

if the clearcoat was done correctly, this should not happen . I had a similar situation on a GMC and one dealer said no while another was happy to take care of it. YMMV

Ford denied it because I removed a dealer logo that was on the trunk. The logo was a vinyl decal that just peeled off. They said that was an outside source that could have caused damage so now I'm trying to work things out with the dealership.
