I am looking for the fuse that controls the map lights in my '20 Mustang GT. I have been searching the internet, and there doesn't seem to be any info on which fuse controls them. In the '15 to '17, fuse #1 controls it, but in '18 and up there is no clear cut answer in the owners manual (#1 location in unused). Basicly, I just want to deactivate them by pulling the fuse. I really didn't want to pull the bulbs, which would also solve the problem.

18 up the map lights are controlled by the BCM and are electronicly protected. There is no separate fuse that I'm aware of. Map lights are on same circuit as trunk, glove box, center console lights and maybe something else that I'm forgetting.
If you pull the bulb you'll also lose the courtesy lights. Or is that what you're trying to kill? Either way there are two circuits in the overhead. One is for the map lights (button push) the other is for the courtesy lights (open door).

The newer the car, the worse it gets.
Some cars, if they throw an evap code, will shut down abs, traction control and even the hvac system.

lol, it made me think why ford decided that it was too expensive to put a light in the glove box after 2020...My wife gives me shit for it all the time.

FYI, even my 1970 Cuda has a glove box light. It even has one for the cigarette lighter ! :D
