Probably mostly depends on how you plan to modify and drive it- most of the engine failures I've seen in this forum had power adders and were beat on quite a bit. Stay stock mostly, use it as a daily and for occasional responsible spirited driving and any gen Mustang will be pretty reliable.
I have a 3" H-pipe section from an MBRP street kit - I bought an extra directly from MBRP (they don't sell directly anymore is my understanding) to install 18" glasspacks. I don't need the original MBRP H anymore- may be willing to sell/ship. PM me if interested.
2018 Ruby Red black accent package GT-
22k miles - would be higher; was my fair weather commuter before COVID. Now I just drive it around the local lakes for fun mostly
No major repairs - never been to repair shops for anything other than tire replacement
One minor repair, if you could even...
Interesting thread- I'm not a mechanic, but I was taught to ALWAYS check oil cold, and that is BECAUSE the oil will have all drained into the pan.
I'm guilty of not reading my manual thoroughly, so checking hot is news to me-
When changing oil, I fill my vehicles with the specifed amount. Then...
I hardwired the battery tender pigtail to my battery terminal clamps and leave the hood shut. When I disconnect it, I just tuck it back under the hood.
I have the MBRP Street catback exhaust - I don't have measurements - the 18"glasspacks were centered in the straight run between the H and the first curve on the midpipe section.
I put a set of Goodyear Eagle Exhilarate on my manual Lexus IS250 a year ago- when I got around to pushing them on my fav curvy cruise, I was impressed. They had excellent grip and inspired confidence.
If my Mustang's Michelins were ready to replace, with the USAA discount I would give them...
Bought it new in 8/2018 - rearview mirror plastic cover popped off once when I was removing a parking tag, new battery last year. That's it- it's never been back to the dealer once. Four times to local repair shops for tires/wheels, MO safety inspection. Mine has been pretty flawless going on...
@Deuce Mcracken - don't be mad bro :) I took that pic in my garage this morning. That's the tweener in there (because Im weirdly obsessive so I bought a $9 filter to sit in there while the K&N is gettin cleaned  )
:) I don't think it's possible to completely remove all the rasp from a Coyote, especially if you run an x-pipe. I went with H-pipe and glasspacks but WOT still sounds like shredding paper haha
Put a pair of 18" glass packs behind the H - takes the top off rasp, got rid of all the drone I had, and deepens the tone. It might be slightly quieter, but not by much and IMO the tone gain will be worth the db loss
I had posted about this in a different thread on this forum a while back- ~10 years ago when leaving my nephew's wedding rehearsal, I had to follow a very slow car up an entrance ramp. At the end of the ramp the car was only going barely 50mph (speed limit was 65), so I dropped my Vortec charged...
