I read somewhere (but have not confirmed myself yet) that, not long ago, Ford made a change to the fobs. If the fob doesn't move for like 5 minutes (e.g., you set it down on your nightstand or on the kitchen counter), it stops transmitting. That way, thieves can use their fancy receiver/transceivers to pick up the signal standing outside of your house and send it to the vehicle.

You’ll also be walking around after parking your car most of the time! Anyone can pick off the signals of your key fob and simply steal your car with the copied signals too! SLNT has key fob pocket to prevent signals transmitting out of it and render the thieves from stealing your car!
