Seems to be gaining in popularity…. Just wondering if anyone has had their S550 painted with the electric illuminated paint?

It looks like normal paint in daylight but at night once it’s electrified via 12v, it illuminates and looks wild…

I’ve never seen this before but I’m definitely going to check it out. I live 15 minutes away from there facility. I also own a body shop just sent them an email requesting info on training. This could be a good source of extra income from our bike, & tuner customers. Thanks for posting this

It reads that the patents were in-place in 2013, with techs being trained and certified as early as 2015.

I think it's great someone came up with the technology and the applications where it could be used. But it is difficult for me to see large adoption. Maybe more for safety, demos, entertainment, movie scenes and the like.

How well will these appearances age over time? Will people be as accepting in the future (see neon under-lighting or LED, color-changing headlight strips)?

- Power is required. The company lists power requirements in square inch of coverage

- Specialized equipment and technicians. Probably not an issue in a large, metro area

- How does it show with a rock chip? How easy is it to repair or match

Edit: So, further study reads like it could be PPF'd. But the cost. Prep, paint, PPF.

- How well does the finish keep? What's it like to wash and protect it

Edit: Evidently, pretty well. "There is no direct impact because LumiLor is covered with an automotive grade clear coat, so any waxes, polishes, etc. will be on the clear coat and not directly on LumiLor. "
