Changed the oil and saw that the coolant was kinda low. Went to take the cap off and the center part of the cap is stuck in the reservoir neck. I got the middle part out (stuff with springs) but cant get the rest of it out. I can get it to turn but it doesnt seem like its screwed in and I dont wanna have stuff dropping into the coolant so Im trying to avoid doing what Ive been doing as it makes a mess.

Anyone got a tip? Only other thing I can think of at this point is to take a dremel with a vacuum and be really careful cutting it out. Hoping theres an easier way.

This thread might provide some inspiration.

Once replaced, consider doing what I do: lubricate the cap.

1. When cold, gently press down (like a traditional cap) and unscrew.

2. With silicone spray, wet a Q-tip.

3. Use the Q-tip to lubricate the races, where the cap meets the tank.

4. Re-install the cap and ensure secure.

I lube the cap once or twice a year, to prevent it from sticking.
