I'd been wanting to post legit photos of my ride since I'm pretty much finished with the exterior... and I finally got around to taking it out after I washed it yesterday. I don't normally shoot cars but these turned out especially well considering how fast the sun was setting.

If any of you guys are interested in getting some work done, hit me up.

Thanks! It was at the Battlefield in Manassas. There's a cut through that gets you alongside the highway at the little parking spot for hiking. Took the photos there with my 6D.

This is what you call legit photos...

Quick advice is avoid using the instagram filters. The photos would have turned out better without that red filter/highlights...It hurts my eyes.

This was all done in Lightroom, not through IG. I personally love that toning/coloring. Just my editing style is all, haha.

edit: I'll play around with turning that down a notch though. I've gotten love/hate from it on reddit too.

I cannot argue with your editing style if it's what you prefer. Automotive photography is indeed not easy but the more you shoot, the more you learn. I personally I'm still learning and try to improve...Shooting a black is challenge compared on its own.

It's a recent change. I'd post/link to my other stuff but I don't think this is the place to do that. Just gonna keep tweaking!

If you were close by I'd suggest bringing it out so I can set you up with some shots. :(

I'm shooting a D7200 right now currently saving up for the 2.8 Holy Trinity. Best lens I have now is a 50mm f1.8 but I haven't shot any cars with that yet, mostly nature stuff and my dogs. Teaching myself as I go, would love to meet up with other photogs to learn!

Did you add the bokeh in post on that 3rd shot?

Also, if you come out to my meet on Sunday ( http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35825 ), I'd be more than happy to talk shop with you about photos! I'll PM you with my personal site so you can see a little more of what I do.

Yes I was using my 18-270 tamron for that as it was impromptu. The light was perfect but the original shot was pretty bland. I'm also teaching myself photoshop, subscribed to a bunch of youtube channels.

Haha, dude, we use basically the same gear. Canon 50mm 1.8 and Tamron 28-75 2.8.

Honestly, I'd skip Photoshop in favor of starting with Lightroom first. Get a firm understanding of light/color/tone correction and then work on finer details using PS. PS is daunting at the start, especially if you have a large set you're culling through.

We can discuss this at length if you want!

Had a 30-day trial to Lightroom and enjoyed the hell out of it! Ended up getting PS elements 12 for x-mas last year so that's what I got. The full programs are pricey and I'm not into the monthly Creative Commons stuff.

Fair enough. I have the photographer's cc package since it's only $10 a month. But I may use it a good deal more than you. Never used Elements though...
