Thanks, much appreciated, and I love the photos. I definitely want to get another GSD, although not sure when that will happen, as we want to be ready for puppy madness and training--maybe fall 2024?
Here's a shot of my boy Bismarck.
How are the dogs? Feels like it's been a while since we've seen any photos of the GSDs.
We just said goodbye to our 13-year-old shepherd in October. Lots of heavy hearts in the family.
I'm at 16K miles, of which 6300 were from the first owner and the rest since I bought it in March 2022, with ~25 track days (all from me) on it. My mechanic (Shelby specialist) wasn't surprised to see the cracking at that mileage given the track usage--fit into the "Everything is a consumable...
Oh man I can't wait to see these on the Mule! I signed up for the pre-order for these wheels in bronze, but then financial prudence forced me to cancel the pre-order. I think it's going to look amazing with the white/blue stripes.
Mr. Mule, I’m interested to see that you are sticking with the OEM brake pads. I think they are great, especially given that I drive to and from the track, but I wound up moving to G-Loc R12/R10 F/R because I was getting less than three days out of my front pads. So far the G-Locs are wearing...
Yes, but they just don't compete on price like Flood, Lombard, etc. do. For example, I just got a quote from a Bay Area dealer on a five-year/30K mile used ESP (I'm out of bumper to bumper, just under powertrain), and it was $5900 with a AAA discount, compared to $4200 for the same plan from...
This is not accurate per a call I had with Lombard. Car can be registered in CA, you can live in CA, but you have to have a valid initial address in another state to purchase the warranty. At that point, it's a valid extended warranty that will be honored by Ford dealers anywhere.
That's awesome, congrats!
He had it maintained by the same mechanic I use, a guy named Trent Musser. Trent is the MAN for GT350s in the Bay Area, so it has been cared for by the best.
I've never autocrossed, but my inner wheel barrels definitely pick up rubber pieces during track days, enough that several times I have felt vibrations on the drive home that felt like a wheel out of balance (because it is, slightly, due to the accumulated rubber). I was worried about loose lug...
I have found that spacers have been helpful on the track for heel and toeing, although I used $5 worth of Home Depot plastic washers and not that handsome $130 metal plate..
Agreed on heel and toeing on the street. I am never close to the level of braking pressure and commitment that I am on...
Last year I bought front and rear tow hooks from ZL1. The rear welds were terrible, totally unacceptable. I sent it back and they sent me a new one that was just as bad, so I returned it and got a Ford Performance rear hook.
The ZL1 front hook was good to install and held up to a tow out of...
I bought a used 2018 with the ATAK exhaust installed. After six months, I wound up keeping the resonator delete aspect of the exhaust and removing the exhaust aft of that. I did this because when I ran track days at extended high rpms, the ATAK would melt the reflectors immediately above the...
